Wondering about tools, machines, or other devices you use to plant seeds, like corn, beans, etc that you want to put down a lot of in rows.

I'm curious what you use, even if it's 3-point or the like, but at the moment I'm mainly interested in smaller/less expensive options - I just don't have THAT much space I'm planting to make it worth the bigger stuff (yet).

We have a "Planet Junior" type seeder for the wife's small vegetable garden plot. It comes with the different plates for the different sized seeds being planted. For the 2-3 acre sweet corn patch: I rescued an old Cockshutt Blackhawk 4 row planter from a farmer's junk pile. It usually takes a few days to get it working each spring for just a few hours planting time. Then it goes back in the trees til next year. :)

I remember there was a thread from a while ago I think early 2020 maybe 2019 that someone had a similar question. I don't remember exactly what it was so I can't find it. I remember TTWT bought a 2 row planter that actually fits behind his 1 series JD that he uses to plant corn but I think it was over 2k for it.

There is this thread I found: http://orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/l3200-no-till.49430/#post-438591

Do you know what you intend on planting? Is it going to be all corn or are you thinking of planting a variety of things?

Every year I think there has to be an easier way, but even the smallest ones are a couple of hundred dollars and so I use the hands and knees method for my little garden.

The Johnnys seed catalogue shows a lot of tools that are between tractor implements and hand tools for seeding and cultivating.

Here is a corn planter a single row, but if you look around you can find one a lot cheaper used
And if you want something, look around somebody already built one

The Chapin seeder is on sale locally for 80 bucks. Don't know how well they work.
