Hey guys! First time on here, probably not my last:). I inherited a Kubota M6800 a while back from my uncle who was a lot heavier than me. I'm trying to adjust the seat to my weight but so far I can't get anything to move. I've shot it full of PB Blaster but still nothing wants to move. Before I break something that's not supposed to move does anyone know how to adjust the seat in the attached picture? Should the knob on top just turn or does the hex screw that acts as an indicator have to be loosened first? The guys at the local Kubota sales have mixed opinions.

Looks like he had it set for about 190#. Just eat more pizza and beer!

Everything has probably just been un-turned for a while. Squirt some PB Blaster in there, let it soak and keep working the knurled knob clockwise and counter clockwise.

Adjust it such that …AS YOU sit on the seat…. any vertical “bounce” …(you can do this yourself)…. is obviously accommodated by the suspension…..with a small amount of “give”…

The intent is that rough-terrain will allow YOUR weight to actuate the suspension….

Hope this helps.

I have no experience with your tractor but I would back off on that screw a turn or two and see if the knob turns.

Keep loosening the knob until you get some spring compression when you sit on the seat.

The OEM mechanical seat suspension really sucks so keep your expectations low. If you need more comfort consider an air suspension seat upgrade.

I'd suggest cleaning the threads and lubricate the thrust washers/threads, prior to adjusting.

Looks like rust on the right side of the picture.
The adjuster could be rusted also.
Keep spraying it with pb blaster.
If it is really rusted it might need to come off for more attention.

As mentioned by Russell King in post#4, loosen the screw that is the indicator and then turn the adjusting knob to where you want it. After you get the weight adjusted, re-tighten the indicator screw to lock it in place for the weight you have chosen.

PB Blaster may help, but KROIL would be the BEST!
