That's not rotten. As it is still holding the tractor up.
True...but it will not hold fluid. I need to get this thing stable so I can load it and get it 6 hrs down the road so I can start going through all the other things that need fixing. I'd like to fix it once and be done. This will be the tractor I pass on to my son one day I hope.

sandblast

do the lick test
epoxy primer
epoxy paint
install tube

Or to do this quick and cheap: install tubes and don’t worry about the leaking rim.

I had a 9N with rotten wheels. I used a pneumatic grinder and cleaned it up. The valve-stem holes were rotten and rough. I used JB-Weld to fill-and-smooth. Painted with rattle-can paint. Installed new tubes.
15 years later sold tractor for market-price. New owner still using it 7 years now.

Hey guys,

My L3010 has rear rims that are leaking. The tires are 420/70-24. Is there a source for reasonably priced replacements? Is there even a such thing a reasonably priced?
Tractor rims are commodity parts. Put the grinder down and step away from the welder.

Agreed......
If properly sized new rims can be obtained at the cost shown on the Ag States website,...... then NEW rims are the obvious way to go.

The rim on it 24 tall 15 wide. I can't find that combo for less than $800. The rims like he suggested are only 10 wide. I don't know much about tractors, but that seems like too large a difference to me.

You may need a different width but you need to measure correctly. How are you measuring the width? It's measured inside of bead to inside of bead.

Looking at the pictures the rim is stamped 24XW15. Plenty of 24 x 15 tractor rims but six not four loop. Moving the loops would be a pretty simple nodification.

Your tire size would normally fit 12 or 13 inch rims.
