Replacing Halogen bulb with a LED in work lights on a L60 series cab

Hi, I'm relatively new to the forum and a new (to me) tractor owner. I have a L6060 and want brighter work lights on the front and rear of the cab. Instead of replacing the whole light, I just want to replace the halogen bulb with a LED bulb and see how it goes. I can always add a LED light bar if I need more.

I just tried to remove the clear plastic lens, but I don't want to force it too much. There's a small square hole in the middle bottom of the lens. I presume you put something small and push up and out? I just don't want to break the lens.

What is the bulb being used, so I can look on Amazon for a replacement?

Thanks,

Paul

I think the bulb will be removed from the back. Probably a bulb holder into the headlight assembly to turn or somehow disconnect, pull out and bulb will come with it. Similar to newer vehicle headlights.

Edit= sorry for stupid post above. I didn’t realize you were talking about work lights and the comment was on headlights. I should read the thread title more carefully!

Remove the housing from the cab and there are 2 screws in the back. (If its the same light as the b2650) the bulb from the link above is a h3 35w.

The thing that will be a pain is finding a led that is the equivalent lumans (or higher) as the 35w h3 and that fits in the housing. A 35w h3 has a lumen output of approximately 817 lumens.
I have been researching to try and find a replacement for my B2650 cab lights but havent found one that would be brighter (lumen wise) than the stock bulb. All the higher luman output bulbs require a heatsink and ballast and won't fit in the housing.

This is a direct replacement for the stock cab lights but is on the pricer side.

Hey Michigankubota let me know if those work and are brighter than stock.

At $95 US per light, it is not cheap. I'll take a look tomorrow.

Thanks,

Hi Rcflyer330,

I took some pictures of my work lights. Do you think they are the same as yours on the B2450?

I see the two screws at the back. So if you take the work lights off, and unscrew the two screws, the front lens and reflector comes out and you can then replace the bulb?

I did a quick amazon.ca search and found these: https://www.amazon.ca/TUINCYN-Extre...&qid=1606321979&sprefix=h3+led,aps,220&sr=8-5

Here’s another light replacement option, pricey though.

Installed my LEDs today, plug and play. Took about 5 minutes a light once removed.

Hi Michigankubota, thanks for the write up of your install. Yes, please let us know if the new LED bulb is brighter than stock.

Also, the stock bulb, did it only have one wire from it? I noticed your new LED bulb has two. The LED I found on Amazon.ca only has one. I want to make sure the one wire LED bulb will work too.

Thanks,

Paul

One or two wires should work. The negitive wire just goes through the body of the bulb if its a one wire bulb.

Thats exactly what i thought but wanted to

The big question is How is the light output compared to stock?
Anytime you move from a Halogen to LED you will have improved lighting.
The LEDs made a nice improvement.
it’s like going from a 12v incandescent to a Halogen in the 80s

Stock halogen has one power wire and is grounded through the body of the bulb. My LED has its own ground wire that I plugged next to the OEM ground. As stated above, one or two wires should work.
