Can regeneration on my L39 be done while alarm is buzzing. It buzzed intermittently si I loaded it and brought it home. I have no lights on the intellipad but guess regeneration is needed. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I would run it through a parked regen. Follow the manual prompts.

Yes the Buzzer should go out once it gets a parked regen going.

Hi I did not do a regeneration on my L39 because I went visiting for the holidays. Home now but in the interim I was told the regeneration should be done at a dealership if the warning buzzer is near constant and mine is. It is an L39 and has no mention of regeneration in my owners manual or the L39 shop manual I was able to find online. Would it be that Kubota at that time wanted their dealers to have that work or am I risking blowing my engine. Really not sure what to do? Hauling to a dealer is an hour away.

I thought the L39 had mechanical injection? Or are we discussing an L3901 or L3902 or . . .?

Um Like @PoTreeBoy said, an L39 does not have an emissions system.

So what light and buzzer is on if you do have a L39?
Of do you actually have a different model?
As an L3901 is not an L39.

My tractor is L39 which predates the L3901 and later It has an Intellipad on the side of the operators seat showing functions of the tractor but I cannot find a regeneration light or any factory labels telling anything about regeneration; this includes my owners manual and a full Kubota L39 shop manual. I had never heard of regeneration for diesel engines until the buzzer started and has gotten longer on the tractor. In fact I have shut it off and get intermittent buzzing with the ignition turned off. I am convinced now that I have run it at less of an rpm than it should be operated at but have owned it for just over a thousand hours myself and never had an engine problem. I am not even sure why it is sounding the alarm. Some people I know have said it could be warning about anything, hydraulic or engine oil or fuel filter, etc. But I have checked and cleaned or filled anything I would guess and it still continues to sound off; much more than at first. Pretty much thinking I will have to make the haul to the dealer.

The L39 could have a back-up buzzer, could it be that? Find whatever is buzzing and send us a picture if you can.

The only buzzer I can find on that model is an optional back up buzzer.
Maybe a parking brake sensor?

Just went back checking and saw I missed PoTreeBoy's reply, pardon me fellows. This is my third tractor but the first deisel engine I have ever owned and I know next to nothing about them but it is fuel injected so I guessed it was with an emission system. I even pulled the pipe plug and vaccumed the spark arrestor.

Under the rear, left fender.
As Wolfman said, a backup alarm would be located on the tractor's rear.

Try to locate the noise. And do any indicators light or even flicker? There are a couple of relays on the firewall that could be vibrating, causing the noise. I'm thinking the glow plug timer circuit, but without a schematic I'm flying blind. If you can post the electrical schematic, we might be able to suggest some troubleshooting, maybe pull a fuse or two.

Thanks to @eserv, I can see that the L39 electrical system is more complex than my L35. There are several L39 owners on here, maybe some will join in.

* Please describe what's going on. You mentioned the noise may be happening with the key off? If so, this changes the possibilities.
* As I mentioned before, possibly a relay located behind the instrument panel. Maybe a component on the panel itself.
* Your fuel cutoff solenoid, located on the injector pump, is energized any time the key is on. If it's failing, it can make a noise. This is easy to isolate.
* Their are solenoids on your transmission that the L35 doesn't have. I assume these are inside or on the transmission itself, so you should be able to determine if that's the source.

Let us know what you find. I wouldn't take it to the dealer just yet if you can do some minor mechanicing. The collective knowledge here is pretty amazing at times.

If nothing else, you could make a little youtube walkaround video, with audio, and post a link on here.

I apologize for my delay in posting. I got a new computer and had to get it set up. I have not solved my tractor issue but I can update you on what I have found. The pictures explain part of the electronic system installed to help diagnose problems. I have gone through it enough to know no errors are reported and the buzzing is from the Electronic Instrument Panel (Intellipanel). It continues this buzzing intermittently even with the ignition key turned off; maybe a short buzz every couple of minutes. I have not started it because I don't know if that buzzer is warning of possible damage if operated.
My exhaust system has a spark arrestor with a pipe plug for cleaning which I have done. It does not have a Diesel Particulate Filter for regeneration. My concern is that I have used this machine over one thousand hours and am afraid I have always run it on too low an RPM. There is no useful advice for proper revolutions in my owners manual so I typically operated around 1500 to 2000 rpm. My question is could this have caused enough soot build up in my motor to risk damage if I try and use it? That is why I am thinking it might be better to take it to a dealer.
