There is a brace/bracket on the lower front of the B7100 hood that I have been missing since I bought the tractor.
It works fine without it, but I can't help feeling the hood would be stiffer with it.
Anybody have this?

Anybody missing this?
Anybody have an extra one laying around?
Back when WKTP was still around, I called them about some axle parts and asked about that brace.
They said "That is the first thing we throw away". o_O
This part may also be used on B6100 & B5100 series tractors.

It is called Bonnet Stay, part #15

Bill,
looking at mine (which is the newer model 1990 HST version) it does NOT have that, the bracket would get in the way of the HST hydraulic cooler

Thanks.
Sounds like it may be an early gear drive part only.
Mine is a 1979 gear.

Compared to the loader sub-frame you fabbed this is a piece of cake.

Yeah, I have thought about making one, but I need another task like I need another hole in my head.
Besides, maybe no one has one, because it is completely unnecessary.
Hopefully some more folks will chime in.

I believe mine is missing it because I was looking at the empty holes on each side. I think it was removed when the FEL was installed, because it looked like it might interfere with the hood opening. I may be wrong though and I'm not home to run out and look at mine.

I have a picture in my phone showing it is missing. And again, I think it's because it would interfer with the pump for the FEL, but I could be totally wrong.

Mine also was missing lots of hardware in the cowels, as in they were pretty much just unable to fall off because of the exhaust and intake, so I wouldn't say mine is a good example of what should be done.

Interesting.
Only one (so far) that has it, and it has no FEL.
All the others that don't have it (so far) are either HST , or have a FEL. (like mine)
Next time I see mine I will check to see if there is an interference issue with the FEL.

The bonnet stay is not present on my late model HST B7100 but the attaching hardware is there. Interesting that Kubota would go thru the trouble and expense of including them even being inexpensive.
Evident that the stay would interfere with the HST oil cooler.

I read the installation instructions for the B219 FEL, and could not find anything that said to remove that brace.
In fact, two of the pics from the manual (very poor pics) might show that brace in place:

Mine has no bolts, just open tapped holes, maybe supporting the idea that mine has been removed.
Hood has been repainted some time in the past, so no telltale witness marks left to show if it was there.

I'll look when I get home but I think mine is there, I'm not positive though, I think it prevents the hood from opening "too far"

I checked mine this past week, and without the "Bonnet Stay", the hood stops on it's own.
I put a piece of tape in place of the "stay", and the hood opened without the tape hitting the FEL parts or anything else.
It appears the "Bonnet Stay" is a dunsel.

But I still want one. :)
