I am curious. Glow plugs seem to be a regular topic here at OTT.
On my B 7100 it was a must to use the glow plugs or it would not crank at all. My brother had a 2000 model B 7500 and it was about the same as my 7100 as far as cranking went.
My L 3000 and both M 9000 tractors never need them. The big tractors aren't used much in the winter but I use my L 3000 year round. I have never needed to use the glow plugs to get it to crank. I will use them just to make it easier on the engine in the cold but it isn't a must. I realize it doesn't get as cold here in Georgia like it does in the northern states. We rarely get snow but I did help some of my neighbors out by moving snow on their street so their wives wouldn't have to walk up the hill to get home. One of these times it was about -10 degrees and I fired my L 3000 up without them.
My question is do you guys need them or just use them to make the start up easier? Just wandering which one it is.
