I was using my RCR1260 today and went through a ditch. The cutter came off the quick hitch on one side. I caught it quickly and re-attached it. When I get up to 540 pm it now has a big vibration. I am curious if my pto is bent a bit. I was able to slide the shaft some but haven't tried pulling it clear apart. Anyone else have a similar incident?

Pull it and roll it on a flat surface.

Look at the blades under the mower to see if they are stuck or bent.

Do you mean the pto shaft that sticks out of the tractor?

I can't imagine the force needed to bend that, nor could I envision the transmission case allowing that without cracking/busting apart?.....

I have almost no experience with my RC, however; as @Russell King points out, the one time I did use it, I managed to get one of the "swinging blades" stuck when I hit a stump....So it is possible, and its very easy to check/verify.

The rotary cutters I either owned or belonged to neighbors had blades that were hinged to give way to the side when they hit an immovable object. Sometimes one blade would stick in the folded position, leaving the cutter vibrating like crazy until you popped to loose with a BFH.
