PTO switch

I have a relatively new L2501 (just at 100hr).

I just developed a problem with the PTO safety switch. In order to atart the tractor, I have to pull the PTO engage lever (yellow) all the way to the rear. It is not fully engaging the safety switch when it is seated.

I do not see an easy adjustment, is there such an easy fix. I know I can get this done under warranty, but the dealer is quite a way away and it's a big hassle if its a quick adjustment?

Thanks for any advice or help?

Either the switches are loose, 1 bolt holds 2 of them, bracket is bent, or the linkage is out of adjustment.

Go to kubotabooks.com and download the WSM, it will show how to adjust it.

Grab the Operators manual too while you're there, as sometimes it will have info that's needed too.

Check if part of the linkage is binding. My L2501 was popping out of PTO. I lubricated the linkage with molybdenum disulfide powder. PTO now latches properly.

On my l2501 the PTO switch started to act up and we found the problem at the other end of the cable. It was dry and in need of lubrication at the bottom end not the control at the top.

Thanks for the advice, I removed the PTO bracket and found one of the two micro switches had a slightly smaller travel than the other one. I bent the tab out slightly and now it all appears good. Thanks again.

I see this - I bought a L2501 at 16 hours would not start - salesman responded check the PTO switch
no other reply or follow up - will not go back....
wound up having to mess with switch - I had to push the buttons on the safety to get it to start...
has happened a couple times
my complaint is this is a known problem - why has kubota not fixed it????
