Pto problem ZD326

The blades will shut off unless I hold the pto lever all the way forward. Letting it settle back just a 1/2 inch causes the blades to quit working. The linkage under the seat does not appear to be worn or loose. Plenty of oil and new filters. Less than 100 hours on mower.

Seems to me like your lever has come loose. Check all linkages and tighten. If the machine is not shutting down then all safety switches are satisfied, so there is no reason to expect a switch issue. The PTO lever is all mechanical.
Pay special attention to items #60, 120, and 110. Check for loose/broken or bent parts.
