correct, the follower rod was still pushed in, maybe that was why all the grease pushed out

new plan: i dont want to mess up another 13 dollar container of grease, I might look into getting the hand pump ones, or electric, but at least get one working hand pump so I can grease the machine

As far as the pins go: I will look at the kubota drawings, get that part number, and see if maybe i search it on amazon and maybe they will have it

Or get a few of them from messick, that way I know for sure they'll work

The air pressure had nothing to do with all that grease glooping out. You didn’t pull the rod with spring loaded follower before unscrewing the cartridge.
Correct, and the metal clip that frees the follower rod, somehow went missing

In the picture you'll see it missing, hopefully the gun can still work without that part

messick shows part number 20, as being just a little split pin

Why then all the nails I put in it tear/shear out?

That nail is similar to that split pin

Maybe I'm so hard on it that it loosened that area, causing everything to not stay put

I'll still look into putting the biggest bolt I can fit in there

Or I might get a set of "split pins" of assorted sizes, put one big enough, maybe it'll hold

I with @fried1765 on this.

Unless there is some specific reason to use the factory "split pin" that I am unaware of, I would go with a locknut and bolt and be done with it.

$40 dollar grease gun from amazon, put new grease in it

Put air to it, it wont pump out grease

I havent greased the machine in about 3 months or longer

Can someone tell me maybe why it will not pump out the grease?

2nd problem: here are pictures of the front pin missing, almost every hour I need to put new nail in there

Anyone recommend a pin set I can get off amazon that would fit this and others down the line with kubota tractors

The pin is actually missing on the other side, but the bigger sliding piece somehow is not sliding out

This sliding piece will slide out if no nail/pin there

here is a set for $20, maybe one of those will fit that spot?

These appear more like the original one that used to be there

From your local hardware store.....
A simple bolt, with a lock nut, is all that is needed for the "pin".

Asking the obvious, but did you pierce the foil top on the grease tube before putting it in?

update on the grease gun:

Went to a bigger compressor, still did not push out grease

Then, i noticed the bottom clip (you can see in the picture) went missing

Looked around, cannot find it

then decided to take off the grease to see if its even pressurized, big mistake

All the grease come out

I'm understanding - there is pressure in the grease chamber area, but it is not making it to the nozzle

There is a hole on the other side of what the picture is showing, on the grease on, there is a hole that pushes out air, tons of it

Sometimes, I will hear the cylinder pushing the grease forward, but most of the time,

all the air is escaping from that hole, and no grease is pushing forward

Yes I have heard of them from youtube mechanic, zipties and bias plias, but,

I dont think they are in the united states, maybe they are, i'll figure it out

And yes with amazon, I've already purchased a few items that had pieces missing, and to ship it back cost more than I paid for it (12-14 dollars delivered)

Their prices are even better than harbor freight, but the quality on intricate tools (like the pneumatic grease gun) could be off sometimes, maybe mine is broken

Harbor freight's cheapest pneumatic gun is $100+

Yes, after I am done typing, I think there are small bolts in my bolt pile that MIGHT fit in that hole

I didnt think kubota just put the "split pin" there

Yes, the grease gun maybe once out of 100 pulls on the trigger, WILL spit out some grease, when this happens,

I confirm that you feel the hydraulic motion inside the gun moving the grease forward, but

most of the time, all the air comes out from a hole on the right side of the grease gun

Some kind pressure release

Deep inside the gun, the motion of taking the grease from the pressurized chamber into the grease hose, cannot be done 99% of the time

I did get a $17 dollar hand grease gun, the "overall choice" on amazon just to at least get some grease in that machine

Holding off on tinkering with the pneumatic gun for now

Bucket splitting in half

Now there is a problem bigger than the grease/pin

The bucket is splitting at the welds

I was running it very hard flattening ground, then i noticed it

I dont think it was there before today

To be fair, I've moved more earth than it was meant, have gotten big value from it

Dont think that a little bx1500 cant destroy a bucket, it can

I'm still gonna run it, but I know later to hammer then weld it back in place

I'll try not to run it flat, but rather crab walk

Since running it flat is just gonna keep bending it inward...

The bucket pins are meant to move some. The small bolt, or in this case the split pin, keeps that pin from coming out. Your first post says you haven’t greased this thing in awhile. The bucket pin is getting in a bind while working the bucket and shearing your small nail.

Before more damage is done why not take an angle grinder and clean up around that joint. Lay a3/8" rod in the crack and weld it across the entire seam? Easy fix now, not so much if you rip it open.

It is getting worse,

yes @D2Cat, I will be learning how to weld soon from yall/youtube

At the moment, no welder available

I know, I wish I did not have to further misshape the bucket, but I am almost done leveling the area where I need to surgery on the bigger unit, hole in the side of the block

I almost have a covered area where I can take apart the engine, split the tractor, etc

Here's a bolt I found to put in that pin, it is somehow staying in

I have been thundering pushing it to the limit, and bolt not fall out yet

Joe, you never disclosed your location other than Earth, but the way it's going just wrap some electrical tape around that bolt. You'll be fine! ;)

yes I am with you about doing more damage to the bucket, and I do not like the way it is folding

But, I am so close to having that area to do the repair work

Yes, i will be repairing the bucket once I am ready to understand and setup the welder

That bucket has paid for itself so many times the beating I have put it through the past year
