Hi blee49. Welcome. You've come to the right place and will find folks who are very helpful and knowledgable. They're willing to share and help and even more responsive if you give feedback.

As a starter, it sounds like you are either out of fuel or have a fuel delivery issue (maybe a clogged fuel filter). Have you checked your fuel level and/or are you sure fuel is making its way to the injectors?

Good luck!

check the other safety switches. Any of them can cause that problem. Best to do them one at the time so you can find the culprit easier.

Thanks for your thought, but why does it restart in neutral and keep running till you put it in gear, it kills the motor instantly ?
When you say you put it in gear, are you just putting it in gear or doing something that might require additional power, like trying to move, etc.? Idle doesn't require as much fuel as other operations and it is possible you sucked some crud into a fuel line, filter, etc. and when the engine requires more fuel for the additional power demand it can't get it and stalls.

Just a thought,
Good luck,
Ted

If it only dies when engaging the PTO, but otherwise runs, the logical thing to check would be for something jamming up the blades.

If it dies when trying to move tractor (with PTO disengaged) then check the other things mentioned (fuel, safety switch).

At 250 hours on my BX I believe I have gone thru dozens of stalls, I blame the small fuel filters for 3/4 of my trouble, with sometimes only 10 hours on one. Also I have deduced that the factory fuel pumps seem to lose pumping pressure rapidly. Dropped to 3 psi, while the ones I now use put out 6 psi. Yes it runs, but not enuff to do any work. Also, going up hill you lose some of the gravity advantage for fuel pumping.

I ordered fuel pumps via e bay and used this part number HEP-02A. Mounting slot on one side needs widening. Got prices going from $10 and up. Mine came from Hong Kong free shipping only $18. It is a somewhat different design than originals. From the Kubota dealer factory pumps cost about $150.

I also went to U tube and did what a Canadian did to install a larger first fuel filter outside the frame. A little searching you will find him with his many videos. The filter is for a Grand L. However originals no longer made so a replacement works 15521-43015 from M& D appliance. From Messic's cartridges are 15521-43160

I yanked out my fuel tank along the line and did the cleaning, not finding anything in it, making no difference.

Good luck.

something is possibly keeping the blades from turning. if you can move the tractor with the pto dis-engaged. then the problem is with the pto or the equipment.

This probably don't have anything to do with your problem, but I was having stalling issues with my machine and traced it down to the seat safety switch. The switch had become corroded and not making good contact.
I searched out every safety switch (I think), took them apart, cleaned the contacts and put some Dielectric grease on them before clipping them back together. I've not had a problem since.

Thanks everyone for there input, I found the problem was two broken wires in the wire harness behind the left rear wheel. I was checking the safety switch connections when I noticed the wire harness had a tear in it. It contains four wires that go to the safety switches. The harness must have bowed out to rub the rear wheel. I was lucky to see the tear in the harness. All I did was splice the wires back together and secure it away from the wheel. Job done. Thank you!
