In any equipment I've owned, I've always changed the oil yearly. This year, I'm not going to come close to the recommended hours of use for scheduled maintenance. Just curious what you do? Change yearly or follow the maintenance schedule, even if the hours of service may be closer to 2 years?

I've always changed engine oil and filter yearly regardless of operating hours.
I do it in the fall after last use on seasonally used equipment.
Neither your profile or your post states what kind of equipment you have so it's hard to offer specific advice.
Like SDT I change engine oil/filter once a year or by hours which ever comes first - just an old habit for me personally on all my vehicles - since it isn't that expensive to do so. The hydraulic oil/filter I change according to the ops manual recommendations, every other year so far.

Engine oil and filter are relatively inexpensive. First tractor owned for the first few years I use to change the oil and filter annually. Never reached the manual noted hours. My neighbor use to farm and in retirement has started up farming again. He sort of laughed at my low hours and annual oil and filter change. I took his advice and started changing every other year which ended up around 100hr intervals. He was right. Couple decades of use the tractor was still running fine.
Traded it in for the BX in April of '25. Sticking to the manual recommendations until out of warranty. Then if still just running ~50 hr/year will revert to every other year for motor oil and filter changes. Which is basically what I'm already doing. Just broke 90 hours this past weekend. So only 40 hours since last Autumn oil and filter change.

year hours mileage depending on vehicle whichever is first. reason for yearly is it means your not running it enough and water from condensation can kill your oil
I agree, its good practice to change the oil annually. But if you use quality diesel oil (assuming you have a diesel tractor) like rotella, they are a very robust oil and dont break down as fast as other oils according to numerous videos and claims from blackstone and other oil tests. For piece of mind if you can afford to do so do it anually or not but write the hours and date on the oil filter when you changed it so you can track it easily.
