Hello all, I need help figuring out why there is oil spraying out this hose. It just started doing it and only seems to at a higher rpm. I recently had an issue with one of the injectors as well. Don’t know If it could be related. Any information would be much appreciated. It’s a 76 L225DT.

That "hose" is a steel line. Yes? And I believe that is your hydraulic pump that it leads to.

Sorry - I wall looking at the line ABOVE that one centered in the orange circle.

You trace that line back to the valve cover?

What is the level of your oil in the crankcase btw?

First - I have no idea what it is.
It looks like a rubber hose connected to an elbow fitting with either a loose hose connection or a damaged elbow. The color of whatever is being sprayed out sure makes it look like engine oil.

That is a crankcase vent line that is connected to a vent box that is on top of the crankcase. It should not be spraying oil out but some smoke will be ejected from it and cause a drip when the blow by is excessive. I think your engine crankcase is over full of oil. I think your hydraulic fluid is being pumped into the engine because the seal on the hydraulic pump has failed. Check your engine oil level!

Here is what the hose you’re pointing to is on the engine. There are a couple of different arrangements that are highlighted in yellow. They attach to the valve cover near the front where I highlighted it in yellow.

Russel, I will definitely check the oil level and go from there. What you’re saying makes perfect sense, I knew this was the right place to come for advice. This is my first tractor and I’ve done so much work on it myself but some things leave me stumped like this. Again I appreciate everyone’s input and I’ll report back once I remedy the issue.

If that is the problem, replacing the seal on the hydraulic pump is pretty straightforward if you are somewhat mechanical. Unfortunately there is not an online diagram of the pump that shows the part number(s) for that seal for a L225 so you may have to get your dealer to figure that one out!

You will need to find out why the Hydraulic pump blew the seal or you will simply do it again.
Do you have anything hooked up to the hydraulic system?
if not move the three point lever to the middle position as it's probably going into relief and you will need to adjust the feedback linkage to keep it from doing it again.

There is also a possibility that the overflow is caused by fuel getting into the oil, that is normally caused by a bad lift pump but you don't have one on that model, so it would have to be a bad injection pump.

Check oil level, hydraulic level, and fuel level to determine which is high and low.

Here is the seal kit for the hydraulic pump.

sounds like I’ve got my work cut out for me 😬. I don’t have luck with dealership’s on parts as it’s a gray market tractor. I usually just order what I need online. It’s not got anything hooked up to the three point, I actually noticed the issue when I was removing my mower attachment.

No L225DT is not a grey market tractor.
Now if you had an L1-225 that's grey market and that's a completely different tractor than a L225.

Dealers will have very few parts and info as that is older than most of them working there.
Do you have the WSM (aka Service manual)?

It’s actually a Zen-Noh ZL2000DT. All of my digging and cross references I’ve narrowed it down to a Kubota L225DT as the original model. The whole gray market thing was super confusing at first.
