No instrument panel

I lost the function of my L3130's instrument panel (gauges, tach, back lights) but the blinkers / hazard flashers / high beam indicator lights all work. Also the glow plug doesn't seem to work? I checked all the fuses (they're fine) I've been looking for all grounds to make sure they have good contact, can't find any broken wires. Knowing the cost of a new Instrument Panel assembly ($497.95 + s/h) does anyone have any pointers?

when you checked the fuses......visual ? or meter? I have had several fuses go bad that "looked" fine - but were bad with a meter.

I would think there is a hot or ground wire that has been dislodged, worse case is a lead on the circuit board - hope that is not the case.

Thanks for your reply Tom,

I checked both sides of the fuse with a test light, and replaced the 5a fuse with a new one. There are two plugs into the instrument panel & with the test light I found one hot wire on the left side & several on the right plug. I have no schematic's so I don't know what that all means?

New development questions: With the glow plug, no gauges or tach on the instrument panel & Now: No charging from the alternator leads me to believe it may be in the ignition switch? First does anyone have the electrical Schematics for the 2005 L3130?
Is there a PC module (onboard computer) serving these Kubota tractors?


I've cleaned all the grounds I have found, traced all the wires looking for breaks & wear, & checked fuses / relays (checked with test light) are all good

any help?

It's been very helpful in the hunt. everything seems to point to the panel, I see that the CPU is built in to the IntelliPanel on the HST 3130 which may make it a costly fix. Thanks again JoeR

In short after 3 hrs of reading the service manual, I pushed the "DISPLAY MODE" button and the dash panel lit right up. all is good

Glad to hear that - pushing a button beats the hell outta a new panel!
I wish all "problems" could be that simple!
