A while back, Paul Short posted a youtube video about replacing the floor mat on his BX25D, rather simple install. Did a little research then, but could not find the mat in the US.

Now it is easily available. Messicks and Colemans both have them. Total cost is about $80 shipped.

My question: anyone done this (other than Paul) and do you feel the effect of it being a little heavier and thinker, is it worth it? DOES it seem to make a difference in noise, comfort...etc? Did you use the old clips or did you buy new ones?

thank you for any feedback!:)

I've been thinking that when I need to replace the mat, I will use bedliner.

No more trash, mud, and dirt under the mat.

Bruce,

good point - I am trying to make it a little softer, and more importantly reduce sound......if that is possible!;)

Ive been wanting to do the same thing, the mat is definitely thicker. As i was going to order it, it has changed part #’s a couple times. Couldnt swallow the shipping charges so I haved passed it up. Havent needed to go to the dealer either, which is a good thing. I figured I would break some of the clips so new ones were going to be ordered too. Its on my wish list...

I too am always looking at the shipping charges......the shipping on this is about 10-11 bucks to VA.....on a 70 buck item, I can deal with that, on a $10 small part - it kinda ticks me off.

This mat is something I do NOT need....but if it cut sound out a smidge and or is a little softer, I might bite the bullet and get ME an XMAS present!:D:)

+1 on that..
OK guys......you convinced me! I went ahead and ordered the "new" thicker mat from Coleman's , about 80 bucks shipped, ordered the plastic rivots too.

And I think the idea of spraying a "liner" before the mat is a good idea too.

Next question......after the 5 minutes of taking the old mat off, and the 45 minutes of cleaning the dirt and whatnot from UNDER the old mat......should I block off the multiple holes BEFORE I spray???

I know all of these holes allow for the deck to come off and other holes are for water exit too - however, the amount of dirt that comes UP through these holes is tremendous. The brake pedal only needs about 1/3" of the opening to function. The HST side also has a long opening. All of these openings could be closed up quite a bit. I do realize IF THE floor panel needed to come off, all of these openings would need to be made larger again.

Even if something like "tape" was used to enclose the holes, then sprayed over - the tape could be removed later if need be.

What thoughts do ya'll have - I think a can of "bed liner" type sprayed down then place the new mat over.

I am cheap so although it took me about 4 hours to cut out pattern using cardboard, trace, copy to mat, cut out and install, I have $0.00 bucks in it. Old mat we were throwing away at work in favor of thicker smooth mats.

I did not secure the mat so I could easily take off and clean under it. It stays in place well and have never noticed it moving at all when I am getting on and off tractor.

I would put the new mat on the pan the way it is. I don't think "do it yourself" bed liner will make a difference. Reducing the openings with some kind of tape may help keep it some dirt out.

I think I would just do the mat only. But years ago I did a roll on bed liner for my truck. On the tailgate used the assorted circle felt pads(used for cabinets) to put over the screw heads in case I needed to get them at a later date. They worked out great.
