hello all. I just recently purchased a grey market kubota from an auction locally. I'd like to find out what model it is. It has no identification anywhere on it that I can find. it is 4wd. Just comparing to pictures here Ibelieve it to be a B1500dt, but all help would be greatly appreciated. Also when I got it it ran great and drove great except for two problems. I've used a total of maybe an hour, and now I have no clutch at all. Also, and I knew this when i cought it, the steering has a lot of play and very loose feeling. Any help with these problems would be greatly appreciated. My wife is already complaining that I bought it so I have to get this thing going right, asap! I will post a picture or two just as soon as I can get them off the camera.

here is a pic of the tractor at the auction yard. has had a decent paint job recently, but overall it appears to be in good condition even below the surface, except for the two problems I mentioned

Welcome to the forum.
Congrats on the tractor.

Check the link at your clutch.
There wil be a threaded rod with a couple bolts.
This allows you to adjust your travel.

Not sure on the steering.
Search the articles section.

Someone else will chime in.

Assure your wife it was a great buy and is worth the ca$h

I got the mower with it, but it was a true piece of crap. its sittin in my yard now, used about 30 minutes and the blade came apart, about ripped the quill out of the deck, get to looking and it was all rusted out and rigged up, and the blade was two new ends welded to the old center section (I guess they couldn't find the right blades) broke right at the weld, and all went to hell. the blade went seperate and I didnt get it, already have a good scrape blade. I also bought another finish mower the next day, also a kubota mower, that appears to be in working order , a little surface rust, but haven't used it yet because the pto shaft is jammed in the collapsed position.

First off, Good Luck with your new tractor. I bought a L245DT with many problems. One of which was the steering. You can adjust the steering box and remove most or all if the play. On the box it will have a nut with a slotted bolt, loosen the nut and with a screwdriver turn the bolt. Then be sure to check the steering tie rods and other parts. Again Good Luck and enjoy your new tractor.

Thanks for the steering tip, I'll look at that tomorrow. Any help with what model it may be? all the badges, etc are gone (if they were ever on it) and any labels for controls are in japanese

A lot of them have a model and serial number stamped on the transmission tunnel Off to the left of the gear shift on the side of the tunnel.

Thanks for the info Vic! I don't know if i have all the gears figured out, I have two levers just on the right of the seat, one much further back, and it appears that between the combonations of these levers then yes, I guess I do have 16 F and 4 R gears. as a 1600dt, what would i be looking at for a clutch set and where can I get one from? havent' had a chance to look at steering or the clutch today as its been raining all day here. Also, is there any way to take it out of 4wd or is this full time? There is also a foot pedal on the back of the right floorboard, is this a lock-in for the rear axle?
as far as the sheetmetal goes I assume it was left off because of condition because a lot of body work has been done to the hood. the plus is it appears to have been well-done, not pounds of bondo covering up rust.

So I've done some searching here on the forum and from what I've found here the NA equivalent to my b1600dt is the b6200? is this right? and would the b6200 7.25" clutch work on my b1600dt? Also about what year can I expect my trator to be? any more info would be appreciated, I've been searching but can't find out much about it.
