OK so. Playing around with the new tractor yesterday evening and today.

Hyd fluid level started dropping, not concerned really, there was a good bit of "dry cylinder" sound from the backhoe and FEL due to them not being bled completely. Called the dealer and was told tuesday or wednesday they would come out and top it off or I could come by for a gallon of fluid today. Did that and one quart topped it off.

FEL comes down fast and jerky sometimes, is this normal with the Kubota FELs? Or is there an adjustment?

Next thing, hydraulic fluid... UDT and Super UDT are.... Super Expensive...

We go through about 25,000 gallons of diesel a day, yes not a typo. 600 or so gallons of DEF a day, 3,000 gallons of oil and a few barrels of Hydraulic fluid a month. Needless to say I get some ridiculously good prices on lubricants and plan on using Chevron Synthetic All-Weather THF as it is really, really affordable for me.
Anyone have pushback from Kubota on warranty claims when using alternate fluids?
Anyone have a better alternative Hyd fluid choice for Kubota than the Chevron stuff? Maybe something comparable to Super UDT2?

You better get it in writing that it matches or exceides UDT specs

And you won't find anything 100% comparable to Super UDT2, that is a Kubota exclusive!

And really for as few of times that you will need to change the Hydraulic fluid it's not worth it to skip to a cheap non UDT compatible fluid.

The Chevron Synth is listed as meets or exceeds UDT in the data sheets for it so does Valvoline Unitrac

I guess with the interval at 400 hours saving the hundred or two $ is not really that big of a deal.

As for the FEL coming down fast? It can if you push up on the stick enough.

As for the FEL coming down jerky? I have never had that problem.

When I want the FEL to come down slowly and smooth, I just barely push the stick up and it works fine. If yours doesn't work that way, I would get it checked out.
