New guy question

would a bx 2200 be ok pulling a 60" finish mower? my belly mower needs work and i can get a finish mower pretty reasonable.

That sounds like a great deal if it's in fair condition. Change the gear box oil, even if the seller said he "just did it".

Like GeoHorn said, and you'll hear the it bog down if you're mowing to fast. You have 16.8 HP at the PTO so you should be OK.
