hi guys my b2150 was losing power so I checked fuel filter. OMG was it dirty so much so that the ribs on the paper element are hardly visible. I know I know I messed up. anyways I tried to put on a new filter but it wont fit. the filter diameter/ length look just like the old filter but this new filter has a metal band around the top (the end with the hole in it) and it is just sooooo ever so slightly bigger that it wont fit in. the old filter is a rubber end. I was thinking can I rip that metal collar off the filter maybe there is rubber underneath it so that it can fit? d the metal ring doesn't seem to want to come off. the bowl is metal not glass I don't know what to do. any suggestions

Either you have the wrong filter or someone has changed the housing.

You should have fuel filter P/N 15231-43560

Look at the top of the filter housing for a o-ring, they do fit pretty snug in there.

hey thanks wolfman!!! i looked at it and looked at it and i could not see an o ring just the seat were the filter sat then i realized that could it be that the top of the old filter was actually stuck on the top of the element so i got a small screwdriver and sure enough the metal ring popped off exposing the nipple with the o ring on it so the new filter fit great wolfman you made me look extra hard and the o ring made me realize that something wasnt right needless to say the kubota is running great now i just feel stupid but decided to post my shame in case it happens to someone else who has never seen the inside of a fuel bowl i wish i could have had a glass bow (mine is solid metal kind)l i changed everything else but that when i got tractor aint that always the case.

Don't feel too bad, when my neighbor got his B1750, the fuel filter appeared to be a dirt casting of the inside of the fuel bowl. Can't imagine how it was running.
Glad you figured it out.
