I have an 2022 MX5400 with about 200 hours on it. I'd been using it quite a bit over the weekend - bush hogging some fields and trails. I shut it off for a while this afternoon and when I went to restart it, it won't crank. It acts as though I'm trying to start it when its in gear. I'm aware of three sensors it uses - the seat, the range lever must be in neutral and the PTO must be turned off. Is there something else? How would one go about troubleshooting which sensor if that is the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Jump the starter solenoid directly from the battery to test the starter. If tsarter cranks engine, then you have a safety switch or wiring problem. If no crank, then starter, solenoid or battery problem.

Just be careful since you are bypassing all safety controls on the tractor. Do not have the key tur to the run position.

I have the same problem. No luck finding the cause.
I had this problem today as well on my MX5400. Bush hogged last week and then dead today. I have an electronic PTO switch. I turned it on and off a few times and made sure it was turned off as far as it could go. Fired right up. That switch has been temperamental for me. Last year I had trouble keeping it engaged a couple times. See a new one in the future.
