I'm looking for comments/recommendations for a Mr Funnel... After reading all the fuel problems owners are having, I'm thinking of getting one of these. I live in western NY. I use Stanadyne fuel additive, adding it into my 5 gal container prior to pouring into the tractor.

1- Do they work well and help with water/trash?
2- What size would you recommend for a Grand L60 series tractor filling from a 5 gal container?
3- Are there any other similar brands that someone might recommend?
4- Any other thoughts?

Thanks!
Ted

They work very well. Another member brought them to my attention. The small one doesn't have much for capacity, and is slow going for a fill up. I would recommend going with one of the bigger ones.

A word of caution. Some fuel additives and chemicals can take the Teflon off the mesh and cause them to not filter the water as expected.

Yo Daren,

that was one of the first topics we talked about!!!!

I would highly recommend that funnel - I use it EVERY time I place fuel in my BX.

I took a 32 oz Gatorade bottle , cut the bottom out and placed the funnel in it, why? Because it will stay still and fits in the large opening of the BX tank.

THE only draw back is that you must stop and "see" how full the tank is, it is a wee bit slow to fill, but believe it or not, the more you fill it up the faster it flows through.

I pour for about 45 seconds and then check, pour again etc... Have I ever made a mess on the overfill......yes once!!!!:D

But it is the best 20 bucks you'll ever spend!;):)

The aviators i know all have Mr.Funnels.
Its basic equipment in a small aircraft. Last thing i would want is a stall due to water/dirt in fuel. Not such a big deal for landing a float plane, but if engine quits it could be a long walk home.

Been meaning to get one, but my yellow jug is clean, hopefully i can keep it that way.

My dealer gave me a funnel with a screen in it when I got my tractor and said to use it every time. I was looking for a better one the other day and ran across the MF online. I going to order a couple today I think. I would rather buy them locally, but no one around here carrys them.
