The soil on my property is real sandy and can be quite abrasive to a mower deck. For many years I have coated the underside with the paint on bed liner. The sand eats it up but I'd rather that than the metal of the deck. Just a thought, works for me. Ed B

You could also have the deck powder coated, a good coat and it would be one and done. ;)

I also have rapid abrasion from sand and have not found any paint that holds up for an entire season. Never thought of using a bed liner. How long does it last and does it cause grass to stick and build up?

Never had a problem with sticking, build up, or air flow. After running it a season you will know where it needs to be applied thicker. The hardest hit areas are parallel to the blade rotation. The rest of the deck get very little wear. Ed B
