Would the same be true for front axle?80/90 vs Sudt? Are they compatible?
The front differential and axle hold around 2 gallons so draining and filling isn't such a big deal, but the transmission case at 15 gallons or so is an expensive proposition. I'm not in need of changing the oil yet, but when I do, I'm going to look at options in addition to UDT2. My local dealer's pricing is on par with Messick's but without the shipping cost, so today it would probably cost around $425 to drain and replace the transmission oil in my M6060, plus filters of course, so maybe $550 all in. On the up side, I'm not doing this every year.
I'm making the reasonable assumption that the M4 is basically the same as the M6060/M7060 in terms of fluid capacities.
