Post a couple pictures of the valve.

To answer your original question, if the valve is a double acting directional control valve it could be used for a third function. But based on your description it may not be a directiobal control valve. My suspicion is it is a diverter for the backhoe. Even if it is a directional valve it would be terribly inconvenient as a third function. .Adding an electric 3rd function control vslve between the loader PB and the mystery valve is a much better way to go.

I tend to agree with you. I was just trying to figure out what it is. It appears to feed back toward the backhoe so it maybe for running something like a load splitter from the ground. Perplexing.

Hmmm. The online l45 parts definitly ,(??) has the 3pt linkage in the options section. In any event Eric probably wants an electric third function. I currently have a manual valve on mine. It wirks OK but less than optimal. It was supposed to be a "quick and dirty" while I engineered my own electric version but fibrotic lungs got in the way of the quick part. Its back on my bucket list for this summer.
I'm leaning toward an electric 3rd function, probably summits. They have one for a l39 and l47. Which one is closer to a l45? Does the pressure feed to it come off the loader PB port?

Hard to answer those questions with any certainty.

Yes, the pressure comes from the loader PB.

L39 uses the TL1000A loader same as your L45

L47 uses the TL1300 loader

The Summit kit is pretty much agnostic. Based on their skimpy pictures and description the main differences are the vakve nounting bracket and possibly length of the hoses.

Its not my money so I would go with the L39/TL1000A kit. The valve, joystick handle, wiring, boom hoses, and brackets should work fine. You may need to buy different supply side hoses or fittings.

Ask Summit for guidance.

The pictures in the manual look nothing like what I have. I have a valve (the aluminum handle) that will run my auger (after I added the lines you see ) but it is not reversible. When I got the tractor it had pioneer fittings. Threaded directly into the casting, please refer to previous post

I think I may see a fifth under the one Wolfman circled. And is that a relief on top?
I agree that there are (probably) two hoses at the front of the valve. There is also the one at the rear and one on the side.

I can’t really tell if the lower side hose connects to the valve or not though.

Here is a zoomed in view of the two hoses in front. I tried to get it clearer by some adjustments.

Fifth makes sense but my eyes can't see the fourth. Definitly a relief. Looks like a (well done) DIY.

To answer the question the 3rd function would go between the loader snd remote valves.
