this is a wide open question.......kinda like what oil is what.....

but I'll tell you this..............those blades are meant so spin at a certain rate....
and something like 1500 engine rpm ....AINT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

you want to hurt your engine? run it a low rpm cause those that believe lower is better!!! To answer your question - run it at 2800-3200 rpm, that is up there near WOT, and that is where the engine is meant to be run....trust me!;)

The correct answer is in the owners manual, but as stated above engage and disengage at low RPM. There is a yellow mark on the tachometer, that indicates 540 RPM at the rear PTO, and 2100 (or 2000 I forget which) RPM at the mid-PTO. This is the proper speed to run your mower, but a little faster won't hurt.

Just tried using my MMM on the LX2610. 2653 rpm is as high as it would go.
Any suggestions?

At that RPM - you are over cooking your grits!!! Top end should be @2500 and you 540 is:
