Awesome…. And in true Messicks style, it’ll be $19.95 for the part and $167.59 shipping. 🤣 To be honest it’s cute giving him a use for his printer and teach him some business skills, so I’ll probably buy one to support them but thought it was cute.

Now that's funny!!

I think it's cute to see Neil so proud of his son. I spoke to Neil on the phone a few years ago and I was impressed by him. I think he is a great ambassador for Messicks and the Kubota brand and I always enjoy his videos.

It's $10 for the part and $9 for USPS Priority shipping.

I won't be ordering an adapter since the MX/M tractors don't lose much oil when changing hydraulic filters, but for those not able to design and print their own adapters, or those that don't like the rag and tape method, this is a nice option.

Neat idea. Good for the kid. They'll probably sell a bunch. To reduce inventory, I wonder why he couldn't do something like the adapter below. I'll probably stick with a rag stuffed around the hose because there's always a rag handy when doing fluid and filter work.

I wonder if it is a good idea to have a perfect seal on the vacuum hose for two reasons. First, while removing the filter the suction draws debris inside and there is no oil to wash it out. Second, a high vacuum may pull debris in at any of the seals.

I have my better half hold the vacuum hose in the hole allowing plenty of leakage, you don't need a lot of vacuum to retain the oil.

The ad for the adapter says as much but I don't see where vacuum is controlled

Unless your better half is going to hold my hose 😄, which I highly doubt, there are those of us who work alone and actually prefer to do so, and the adapter is a pretty good idea as tape doesn't stick to greasy metal.

BUT, as was stated I think a shop rag and some electrical tape is a better idea as that much suction is a bit much suction.

(Absolutely no disrespect meant to @lynnmor or anyone else)

meh. I'll stick to plugging the vent line with a pencil...I lose very little fluid that way. 🤷‍♂️

From what I see there is a flat surface that sets down onto the top of the neck. That is where it appears to “seal” to me.

I agree but there is no way to throttle the suction, I don't want maximum vacuum, just enough to hold the fluid.

Yay for his son!

Horrible music!

For $20 for a gadget to loose in the every 4-5 years most will use it, or if they can find it! 😁

Nope, not for me.

My shop vac has a couple of tapered ends, works for me!

I think will be a very useful product for a lot of people. I also don't know how tape can replace the new product. Maybe OP can post a video of how electrical and how duct tape works. ;)

I spent about an hour with him at the Mt Joy facility and he's just like he is in the video - personable and interesting.
Good for his son!

Yes, and if the tapered end needs to have an angle to fit somewhere just use a heat gun warm it enough to make the shape you need.

Drill a hole in whatever plastic tube or adapter you're using and put in a valve. If drilled low enough in a vacuum hose it's covered when connecting to another attachment, or cover the hole with electrical tape.

You could also drill successfully larger holes until getting the amount of suction wanted.
