So what do you think about instead of buying RimGuard (expensive) or washer fluid (a little expensive) buying distilled water at 80 cents a gallon and adding a cup per gallon of rubbing alcohol?
I have a transfer pump and most of what I would need to make the manifold to fill the tire. Also not afraid to do it. So the water would be (30 gallons per tire) 23 bux, the alcohol 15 to 20 $ per tire. 25 or or so dollars for parts , I feel I am way ahead here. Am I wrong?
Also it never gets much colder than 20 degrees F here.

Save the $0.80 and use tap water. It will rust your rims just as good as distilled water but costs less. Most folks only use distilled water in engine cooling systems and batteries.

You need to investigate further. There are several different kinds of alcohol. Some are not compatible with rubber. There was a thread about this not to long ago.

Solid point, that's why I brought this here. Just looked it up and isopropyl alcohol is really bad for rubber. Thanks.

I purchased -20 windshield washer fluid at Walmart for $1 gallon. Used a 15 gal. sprayer for the reservoir and pump.

I did the same. In about March time frame Walmart sells all their left over winter (-20) rated winshield washer fluid for $1/per gallon. I actually bought a tube for my rear tractor wheels ($16 each at local rural tire dealer) and then pumped the fluid in the tube so it never touches the steel wheels and never corrodes the rim. Been running that setup for 5 yrs now and no problem.

RV antifreeze, the -40 or -50 degree type. Fairly cheap (especially now) and is non-toxic.

I use about 5 gallons for my 47 gallon capacity rear tires on my L4330. Good enough for SC TN.
