Got an E-mail from someone we know sending pics. (Supposedly)
Opened it and instead got a "news" page talking about diet crap.
Closed it and now we have this warning on Google.
Restarted, in & out of safe mode, still there.
I assume browser has been hijacked, any easy fix, or should I reload last backup? (2 weeks old, I think)
Posting from tablet currently.

Not a Mac person, but the article linked below discusses how to deal with different issues, which it sounds like it covers what you have going on:

Yes I get that from time to time especially if I sign in to something on my phone and sign into the same web page with my Mac or my wife signs in on her iPad. Really don't think you have anything to worry about. With all the scams going on now expect more and more security...nothing more untrustworthy than humans.

Well, after trying various things, none of which seemed to have any effect, the funny page/warning went away on it's own.
Go figure.

First thing to do is unplug the computer from the network. You don't say what app you are using to view your email. Apple Mail? Gmail on a browser? Which browser?

Personally I set all email clients to view emails as text only - that means no HTML with hyperlinks or photos ever show up. I also block viewing of photos or downloading images from the internet. Your email will look ugly but it reduces your scammer risk
