First post! Dad and I have had an M9000 for 11 years now, bought it used with 1000 hrs on it. Outside of a few normal maintenance, it's never given us a days trouble.
Recently though, the fuel shut off solenoid has been acting up, causing it to die immediately after starting it. Finally the other day while I was out of town the solenoid went out completely. My idiot brother in law tried to bleed the injectors thinking it just lost prime and then proceeded to drain the battery trying to start it.
I fixed the shut off solenoid, changed the fuel filters (cause dad hasn't changed them in years), and then with some difficulty and injector line bleeding got the tractor started.
It ran ok, but had what sounded like a miss, I noticed that the two inside injector lines were leaking from the bottom nuts (plungers?) on the pump. I shut it off and took the two outside injector lines off, including the bottom nuts. I was careful to remove the springs that came out with them. I tightened and re installed all lower nuts (plungers?) and top lines.
This time when i bled all the lines and got the tractor started the engine tried to run away, neither the manual nor the electric kill worked, and it wouldnt answer to throttle inputs. I ended up having to close off the intake manifold to get it to die, luckily it didn't rev to high before I realised what it was doing and I got it stopped.
I need help deciding where to go from here. Basically do I throw in the towel and order a new IP or are there any other tests/tricks I can try?
Thanx for your time.
