hey guys I just joined and love the form. I have a m7040 with cab and the radio isn't working. I can see that it is on but can't get any sound do you think the outputs are dead or is there something else that needs to be adjusted. This is the first cab tractor I have had. Also the head lights have a short some where and I just wanted to see if this is common on these tractors it is a 2007 but only has 300 hours on it seems odd to have a short already but when I replace the fuse and turn the headlights on it blows right away. Thanks for any help

Not sure about the radio.
Sure seems to be low hours for the year and thats really great. However it makes me wonder if its been sitting for long periods at a time. Im just guessing here but thinking you might want to try and trace, inspect, or follow the wire harness(s) to see if there is a mouse/rats nest hidden somewhere. Those buggers can damage some wires pretty quick.
Good luck.

Can you get to the back of the radio? Is there two speakers or just one? Do you have ANY sound through at all ? NO static - nothing? Is the radio - analog or digital? Just a radio? no cd or anything like that? Can you shoot a picture of the radio?

there are typically a fuse or two back behind the radio too, getting to them might be a royal PITA however!;)

I thought about the hours but I work for a fuel injection shop and know I can get everything fixed at a good price. I have looked over the tractor good and do not see any evidence of rodents so far not saying they haven't. The harness going to the lights looks to be in good shape so I guess my next thing is taking dash apart.

There are two speakers. It is a CD player and I have no static or noise what so ever. I have had radios lose the outputs before i don't mind pulling the radio and replacing it just wanted to make sure there wasn't some setting it should be on.
