I have been having difficulties with my M5030SU hydraulics. I have previously changed the fluid, filter, and magnet in the filter housing. Changing the fluid seemed to help, but things are now worse. I read a forum post that there were other filters, but I can not find them on my tractor, or in the illustrated parts listing from Kubota.com

Can I bypass the auxiliary control by taking the hose with the number "1" and hooking it to the capped hydraulic connector with the arrow pointing at it? Also could I unbolt the unit and purchase the plate that would cover the area where the unit would be removed from? How would I find this part number in the illustrated parts page?

Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thank You.

You are correct, I should have been more specific with my hydraulic problems.

The hydraulics will suddenly stop working. There are no strange sounds, no unusual movements or actions, it just stops working. This affects the bucket and the three point hitch. By the way I only use a box blade and bush hog on the three point hitch. I have talked to my local dealer and they were very helpful this time. I learned the auxiliary control was most likely added at the dealership. I feel the auxiliary control is the problem because if I manipulate the lever the hydraulics will usually come back on.

Despite being on the phone with Kubota while online we could not find the auxiliary control on the illustrated parts listing. I have a shop manual and operating manual but the pictures are very bad and there is scant documentation on the operation of the auxiliary control. In fact it seems my control has three positions instead of the two mentioned in the operators manual.

I am thinking I would be better bypassing the auxiliary control unit, or even removing it altogether but I think I would need a plate to replace the auxiliary control unit and we could not find that either.

Thank you for your quick reply.

TADA... I have answers!
The valve is for a M6030 that's why you can't find it. ;)
Really nice option, now for the tricky part, removing, eliminating, or bypassing it does not appear to be an option, :( So lets work on fixing it!:)
Your problem is probably not the actual valve but the pressure regulator, that would make more sense, but hey it's a tractor anything is possible!

And to answer your earlier question , no you can not just move lines to bypass it, that #1 line is an out from the valve, and I'm not 100% use what the capped nut is, But I think it's another option port, could be in, could be out???

That valve also has some other needed features in it, and this valve is one of several valve types, standard, self canceling, or detent (float).
The features are pressure regulators and selectors, the red knob I do believe is an override, that will bypass the valve outputs (this is just shear speculation as I'm going off of blueprints and not a manual).

If you clean up the back of the valve and get me more pictures I might be able to narrow it down to which valve it is.

Are you wanting to fix it yourself?
If you are, I should be able to get you part #'s and more information on what to do and how to do it. ;)

Oh yeah, I want to fix it. I try to fix everything I own. I always get the kids involved so they can learn. We have not worked on hydraulics but I think we can do it. We also have some good companies nearby that fabricate parts, hoses, and generally fix everything that we can't handle like welding and specialized stuff.

Any documentation you can send would be great. I have the shop and operators manual for the tractor. It was not running when we got it and I think we have really improved it, though it is not a show tractor by any means. We live in a swampy area out in the boonies so it has been a godsend as we can fix the road, maintain our driveway, and since it has turf tires it can go where normal tractors get stuck! Oh, and pull out the other tractors (not Kubota) that get stuck.

Thank you for helping us out. I will clean it up and get you better pictures tommarrow. Is the pressure regulator in the added on control box, or is it a tractor part?

You said you can move the aux. control and the hydraulics start working again. Are you hitting the control by mistake and it's engaging the aux. so to speak?

Hello Kubota owners everywhere! It is time to rejoice! My Kubota hydraulics are working thanks to the Wolfman. Wolfman advised me that the primary failures for my type of hydraulic system are two rubber hoses that connect the suction line from the back of the tractor to the area of the fluid filter, and the relief valve.

After talking to Wolfman I checked the two hoses and one is oil soaked, damp to the touch, though it did not leave a spot on my carpad. I think it could be sucking air at that hose. As I wrote in previous posts, the fluid had a milky look on top, maybe from air. However It appeared all my fluid would drail if I pulled the hoses to replace them. I also did not have a new fluid filter so that replacement is waiting till this weekend. I am also going to replace both rubber o rings in the suction line at that time.

I went ahead and checked the relief valve that is directly beside the auxiliary control. I cleaned the area and removed the valve and disassembled the entire thing. I cleaned it by spraying el cheapo wal mart lubrication spray, then spraying it with an air gun. There was a small amount of black gunk in the conical part of the valve which came out pretty easy. I then put it back together. I did not know the adjustment on the valve so I put it all the way down. When I started the tractor the hydraulics did not run. I then removed the fluid filter, filled it with fluid, and everything then worked!

I then tried to back the spring adjustment back and the rear hydraulics did not work. I again put the adjustment all the way down. I noted there was froth in the valve, as you can see in the picture. I think the froth will go away when I change the suction line hoses / connections and rubber o rings. After adjusting the spring all the way down everything works.

Thanks again to North Idaho Wolfman! I also have scanned the hydraulic part of the WSM for the M5030su and will email it to anyone who wants it. I cant post it here due to size limitations. Just email me at charliegatesjr@gmail.com.
