The 4wd shift level on my M5-111 seems to be disconnected. Hopefully it’s just the spring. Does anyone know how I can access that without removing the gas tank?

You can remove the fender deck & get access to it, but it's MUCH easier to access it from the bottom. Give it a good cleaning and see if you can find it without removing the tank. Might be a bear but it also might beat pulling the tank, especially if the tank straps and brackets are bent/damaged like most of them are.

I was able to get to it without much effort once I identified the proper linkage (having someone in the tractor moving the lever up and down). It was actually to the right of the tank and easily accessible. Thanks for the response.
