Recently acquired, still learning, any advice appreciated. There's a hose from the top of the radiator that doesn't go anywhere, looks the same on the parts manual, no sign of a reservoir tank. But the loose end of the hose looks flared as if it's maybe been attached to something in the past. And I don't want coolant pouring over everything whenever it gets warm. Is there supposed to be a tank here? How does it work without one? Can you install one anyway? Has anyone done this, or not done this, or have any idea if it's a problem either way?

(And yes, I am going to thoroughly flush the radiator and put in fresh hoses, thermostat, and radiator cap. And replace that rusted out air filter housing)

What Wolf said.

Don’t waste your time. These K’s have plenty of cooling capability without overflow reservoirs.
(Just take an air-gun and reverse-blow-out the radiator to get rid of leaves, etc. occasionally)

I bought a generic one from Amazon 4 years ago. Last year I looked into installing it.…. and saw that I’d have to relocate the battery and get imaginative with plumbing…for no good reaon.

Come pick it up and you can have it.
