I have a 2003 M-9000 4x4 with the hydraulic shuttle transmission. I got in it yesterday to use it and it would barely pull in forward gears. The lower gears seem to work about half but the high gears it won’t move. When I put it in reverse, it pulls just as it should. I also notice that when in the low gears, it is slow to engage in both forward and reverse. Reverse will pull in both high and low like normal. Please help

Worth a check, just in case, is the park brake engaged and check that both brake pedals are individually returning. In certain circumstances the brakes may function and hold in one direction a lot more than the other and create similar symptoms, as you can drive through the brakes in lower gears. Would be nice if it was this easy, but I doubt it!

One other quick one is your clutch, if your reverse speeds are generally lower(ratio) than your forward speeds, and your clutch slips, it could slip in higher forward gears and still drive in high reverse gears due to less load because of the ratio.

That unit runs a dampner disc. Being that it is slow to react in both forward and reverse suggest that you have pressure bleeding off somewhere? I would make sure that the shuttle linkage and cable have no slack or play and have full travel, especially forward position.

Then you need to check pressures heading into the shuttle clutch. After that I would speculate the shuttle clutch piston seal and /or friction disc wear.

Again, the amount of hours, service history, prior or recent red flags and full model would help in diagnosis.

You need to start your own thread on your problem, because again your L3750 is not anywhere near a M9000. ;)
