Do the deck wheels need to be adjusted every time you want to mow a different height?

From what I understand the deck has to be down on the deck wheels for whatever height you are mowing.

On previous machines if I wanted to mow high and make a couple passes. I could just raise the deck and go. And then let it down for finish mowing height.

Due to several issues our grass has gotten tall and I'm not sure how the machine would handle trying to knock it down in one pass.

I realize it's more of a bush hog application, but we don't have one and the mowing needs to be done

If the LX2610 deck is anything like my B2620 and B2601 decks the wheels are for anti scalping. The deck is suspended from the tractor. If you run the plastic wheels on the ground all the time you will have to replace them often.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ What he has said is a fact! There is an adjustment for deck height on your tractor, and it is graduated from "Top" to a numerical lowest setting. You adjust the anti-scalp wheels to accommodate the mower deck when it encounters a high spot in the lawn so the blades don't scalp the lawn and damage the turf. Your mower deck came with a detailed instruction booklet, and you should familiarize yourself with its operation and adjustments.

Check the instructions manual for the RCK60-30BB.

A LX2610 has no height adjustment knob

The MMMs used on B2650/3350 and LX series tractors are terrain following decks. Accordingly, set cutting height is adjusted with the gage wheels.

That said, one can rasie the mower above gage wheel setting simply by raising the lift to desired level. I do this routinely with the terrain following MMMs on my B1750 and B3350.

I find terrain following decks much more versatile than suspended decks for this and other reasons.

Not on LX2610.

MMM wheels are gage wheels used for setting cutting height, unlike the anti scalp rollers on suspended decks.

Just tried using my MMM on the LX2610 for the first time. 2653 rpm is as high as it would go.

What's the proper rpm for running the MMM?

What should wide open throttle be?
Any suggestions?

I run my B2650 at about 1900 rpm....does a good job cutting, and is way more fuel efficient. My mid PTO is 1:1 with engine, so 2500 engine rpm equates to 2500 mid pto speed.

I operate my 60" MMM with my B1750 at 2,000 RPM.Though well below the marked setting, plenty of power, cut is fine, fuel comsumption is noticably lower, revolutions accumulate more slowly, and noise is lower.

Thanks.

Glad I didn't get much done yesterday. Only 2 laps on a 2 acre patch.

What gear do you mow in?

I was mowing in M.

Would H be better?

What speed range do you run?
I was running in M yesterday.
High seems it might be a better choice.

How often do you grease your decks?

We've always greased every 5 acres or so.

This is the worst machine for greasing that we've had to in the past 45 years.
I don't recommend anyone use the LX2610 with a MMM.
