I have a new Kubota L2501. I've had it only for a few months. About a month ago I adjusted the lifting rod to grade the driveway. When I was done I went to put it back to level and a few twists from level it stopped. I was in a rush and didn't think anything of it and left it as is. Now I need to level an area for a barn and cannot get that darn lifting rod to turn. I've tried reefing on the lifting arm itself and tried to loosen the lock nut but am getting nowhere. I oiled it and then went out and got a can of PB Blaster and sprayed it and left it overnight. I got a bigger crescent wrench to get more leverage. I'm worried I'm going to break something by pulling so hard (either break myself, the wrench or the 3-point hitch). Any ideas? I don't have a torch but I've read that's an option. Any other suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

Try expanding it all the way out, clean up the threads and grease them before reinstalling. ;)

Take it off the tractor and you should see some holes in the center section. Hang it up and spray PB blaster in the lower hole and let it set for a few hours, then turn it over and repeat the application on the other end and let it soak a few hours also.

Then install a long bar through one of the eyes to hold it with and see if you can get any more turns, go back and forth clockwise and counter clockwise if it moves at all, spray any threads that become exposed.

Remember one end is normal right hand threads and the other is left hand threads so if you are close to the shortest length that will matter which way to turn it. Also if it is near the longest length there are roll pins through the threaded part (inside the center section) to keep it from I threading all the way. Don't force it out or you will damage the threads.
