I have a2002 L301. I've noticed that the left rear wheel will stop pulling at low RPM. The right wheel continues to pull and will drag the left. Could this be a clutch problem or a differential problem? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Not gonna be a clutch problem.....sounds like the axle to the left side has a broken spline or chipped teeth where is meet the diffy.

Jack up rear - spin right side - left will not move at all ?

and it is gonna require some digging in that left side I am afraid. WSM will help big time on this!

Could also be everything is OK and you need to depress the differential lock when the traction conditions are bad?

Have you checked the air pressure of the slipping wheel? Had similar problem and found the the tire was slipping on the rim. Cheap fix if it turns out to be the problem.

If axle is broke or splines stripped, tractor will not pull itself unless in 4wd or diff lock is depressed. Does this only happen in a load, ie, fel digging in dirt,, pulling a mower, etc???
