My newly-acquired B7100HST-D came equipped with an LA301B loader, and no operator's manuals.

I'm new to tractors, but have done some readin' here and there.

Does my LA301B loader/bucket have 'float' capability, i.e. follow ground countours w/ no hyd pressure?
If so, what position should the joystick be in, to allow 'floating' the bucket?

Hello Fullpull. Chances are it does. Easy way to find out is to push joystick all the way forward with the bucket rolled back. The joystick should stay in the forward position. Drive forward or backwards and the loader should follow the contour of the ground. If you roll the bucket forward while the joystick is in the float position the bucket will start to dig in to the ground. If you position the bucket just right you can skim an inch of dirt or if you tip the the bucket forward you can backdrag a pile of dirt or gravel. It takes a bit of practice.:D

Thanks for the reply, dusty-t.

Sure enough, when I scraped away some dark greasy goo, there was the control diagram sticker...'float' is full forward, with a detented click in the joystick pivot.

Oooops...it's an LA300B, not LA301B. My bad.
FWIW.
