I have a B1700 with an LA301 loader. Unfortunately, the float no longer works on the loader. I am seeking some guidance on repairing it.

Last time the tractor was at the dealer, I asked them to repair the float and they said parts are no longer available. I ordered a float kit from Messick’s for the LA301, but the components are too large. My tractor uses smaller diameter parts. I have not been able to identify the control valve on my tractor to search for alternate float repair components.

I would be happy to learn there is a way to purchase components to repair the float, but I have also started researching a replacement control valve. Based on my limited knowledge from researching online, this Summit valve (P40G-2K16A1-J) is a reasonable replacement. I am looking for a non-OEM option because the OEM valve retails for around $1800 (yikes!).

Any advice you have on repairing or replacing would be appreciated.

Thank you,
jesse

That was my initial reaction as well. I purchased that exact kit, but those components do not fit my control valve. The diameter of the parts is too large. My best guess is someone changed out the control valve before I owned it. I am the second owner.

In that case then your best bet is to get a summit valve.

It is a challenge to get clear pictures of it, but here are a couple of the valve and then one comparing the rebuild kit I ordered.

Did I select the correct Summit valve? P40G-2K16A1-J Based on following the hoses in my setup, I believe I also need to purchase the power beyond adapter to connect the line that runs to my 3 point hitch.

Thank you for your guidance.

That looks very much like a Kubota valve. Are there four positions on both spools?

BOOM - UP, DOWN, FLOAT
BUCKET - LEFT, RIGHT. RIGHTER

Yea that's not the right valve for the LA301
It might be a Kubota valve but it's not a stock valve.

I have never noticed a 4th position on the bucket spool, but I can give it a test and report back. I have cab in that direction, so I may never have pushed all the way to ”righter” :)
