I broke the pinion gear and pulled the front driveshaft to check what parts would be needed. While trying to find a new pinion shaft I had to move the tractor out of the way. I had a trail of hydraulic fluid followed me me when I parked it. My brother just went through a similar situation with his and told me of an o ring that went on the shaft? Not much available for parts diagrams I've found so decided to pull the output shaft and collar out to see if the o ring was in place as I had already found 1 on the ground where I parked the tractor but was told there are 2? That shaft is long and wouldn't come all the way out without removing the front axle so pushed it back in and now can't get it to catch anything in the transmission. Thought I heard something drop when I pulled it out but made sure I had the collar as I pulled it. Is there a coupler on the back that the spline goes into that may have dropped or is it just a gear I need to find the center of?

Here is hoping you just pulled the front half of the shaft out, the fact that you said you couldn't get the shaft out lets me believe it was just the front half.

If you pull the front half out along with the 2 part shield and 2 couplings, then that only leaves the Parts in red.
Did you pull any of those out?

There should be 2 bolts and 7 nuts to split the case.
There is an alinement pin that can hang it up.

Ok I did get all of those out and the case moves to about a 3/4 inch gap and seems to stop and apears to get stuck like I’m prying against something, didnt want to pry to hard as I wasn’t sure if there was something stoping it. I will try again in the morning. Thank you for the help

I assume that you have both halves blocked up and fairly level. It sounds like it is hanging up on a shaft and you need to adjust one half or the other

I have the back on a transmission jack and am using a cherry picker to pull the front half with the throw out bearing on it. If that makes sense.

After looking at some more parts diagrams. it appears it might have to do with the shuttle shift handle or shuttle shift fork could possibly be preventing the case from coming off?

You beat me to telling you that part about the shuttle linkage.
#60 behind 40 keeps it from going to far back in the case.
It's just a complicated sandwich assembly.

Give me the tractors serial number and I'll see if there were updated parts that go in there, some models they completely changed the parts configuration to prevent leaks.

Thanks for that, Your unit is just over the production serial number, so it already has the newer parts in it.
