If the splines are taken out, I don't see how it could transmit enough power to move the tractor even 5 mph. There might be enough friction where the PTO shaft might be able to rotate without load, but once the output force requirements increase it would cease to rotate.

Could the clutch frictional material be slipping? That's certainly a possibility.

I was thinking the same thing. Under load I would think that rpm would fluctuate.i ordered WSM, but I did receive some material through email on electrical pressure switch***8217;s that control hydraulic valves and monitor gear speeds.will take some time to figure out, trying to save some time and avoid costly repairs. Also don***8217;t want to do any further damage to tractor by using it. You guys are Great, I really appreciate all your help!

I test drove a new one once an fast shifted it up an it just stopped pulling I let it idle awhile in neutral an in little while it went back to normal shifting I'm thinking you have problems in your switches that works the transmission some way it releases a clutch pack or hydraulic dump valve for each shift

That***8217;s a great thought I will look into it. Tractor has been used under light conditions. I am thinking it might be an electrical sensor or switch also. Thanks

Keep us posted. My 2002 L4310 (8-speed GST) always performed very well.
