L47 TLB Lug Nut Size

I won't be around my tractor for a few weeks, but when I get to it next I plan on checking the torque on the lugs for my 50 hr service. I know they are larger than 20 mm, the largest socket I had when I looked while doing the oil changes. I should have put a tape measure on it at the time, but I thought it would be easy to research. I cannot for the life of me find the nut sizes in the WSM or Manual or online. Anyone have any idea where to find, as I'd like to purchase before I get back to the property? Or anyone suggest a large socket size 1/2" drive kit, like 20 mm to 30 mm for the L47 wrenching work? And I assume they need to be deep sockets based on the attached pic. Thanks in advance.

edit: I guessed 22mm from my memory but better off safe than sorry so plse. don't rely on this old mans memory.

Edit: Oh I see that set is no longer available, but I'm sure they have a set that would work.

Just to close out this post, ended up needing a 35 mm socket for those lugs. Quite a bit bigger than we thought! 3/4" drives are in my future, and I also had to borrow a bigger torque wrench to get to that 192ft-lbs.

Super uneventful checking the torque though for my 50 hour.

Interesting that you have all nuts, mine has 4 studs, 2 nuts. Confirmed 24mm. 2020 model year.

Notice @Richard T. 's tractor the 35mm nuts even intrude into the center hub. All of @OntheRidge 's bolts and studs have washers.

Studs look to be about the same size......the 35mm nut on @Richard T. 's look oversized for the size of the wheel stud?!?!?

That is odd.

Maybe they thought they had a better way to do things between 2020 and 2023?

Maybe the oversized nut serves as both nut and flat washer?

Curious what your manual says about torque specs, mine gives 2 different values for studs and nuts.

From what I can tell there is a sn break where they changed the pn of the nits and newer style takes a larger socket. There is also an option for 2 studs and 4 bolts.

The spec for the studs is for installation of the studs in the axle flange. the spec for the nuts is for the lug nuts that hold the wheel on

I'm not sure this is correct. I have "studs", i.e., bolts, that thread into axle flange, also "nuts" that thread onto "bolts" that are protruding from axle flange. See my pic in previous post.

This is from my manual. Looks like the plate spring only shows up on the M62s now. L47 made up for it with an oversized nut. The nut on their "A" graphic doesn't look to scale though.

Interesting how they are tweaking things each year. Good to know as I never would have guessed that.

Also strange.... if you look at my original post, its of the back right wheel. Second pic is of my back left wheel. The studs are sticking out a bunch in one, and flush in the other. I didn't notice it when torquing.

Seems weird to have 2 different stud lengths (or a 1/2" spacer on one side) straight from the factory?

2 studs and 3 bolts must be to make it easier to hang the wheel, I am guessing.

UMMMMM your first pic is a front wheel not a back wheel.

Good catch @OntheRidge and @North Idaho Wolfman . Not sure how I missed that or why I'd post a pic of my front wheel when my issue was always the rear. lol
