I am just finishing a total rebuild of a used and abused l4530b hoe and I need some info since I don't have a manual for it. First is what hdy. oil is recommended and what is the quantity required? Also I would like to know if the toplink goes in the top hole or does it not matter. Also is there a proper method of adjusting the toplink, with the weight of the hoe hanging or should the weight be off (released)? That's all for now I think. Thanks for any help. This is also the same as a Woods BH750-2.

I use tractor trans/hyd fluid in my backhoe.

Does your hoe have it's own upper link or does it use the tractors top link? My backhoe has it's own upper link and hooks on the upper and second pins at the tractor.

if you don't have a subframe, you absolutely must have a rigid link set that runs from the lower link ends up to the top link attach point on the tractor. This diagonal link set keeps the BH from lifting up. Do you have those parts? Your toplink would only adjust by tilting the BH to get the rigid diagonal links pinned on.

You can still get PDF manuals for the subframe/tractor bracket installation and the BH owners manual from Woods. Used to be able to do this by tractor and BH model number, but now it's by part number and not so easy. Contact them here.

I run my toplink to the second hole down because the pin fits better, it's a lot less worn than the top hole is. I would adjust it with the weight on the subframe.

I use the top link bar to make the backhoe frame vertical in the normal operation position.
