I need some help. As I was using my L4400, it started losing power until it stalled. It started after a few minutes but only ran for a second. After sitting for the night, it started and ran for half an hour and stalled again, with no strain on the tractor. I dumped the bowl and there was no water in the fuel. I reassembled the gas bowl and it filled when the key was turned. The engine started for maybe a minute then died. It will only turn over now.

First welcome to OTT.

Two things come to mind:
1. low fuel level
2. bad fuel filter

Have you checked the fuel level?
Has the fuel filter been changed?

I would change the filter and then see what happens. At the very worst you will know for sure that the filter is not the problem.

I changed my fuel filter this weekend and was worried bout getting air in the fuel line, so I broke out the manual and it said to change the filter then start the tractor and open the air vent knob (counter clockwise) for thirty seconds after thr tractor has ran for thirty seconds shut off tractor and close air vent knob. So far so good, no sputters.
