First post. We just moved onto a 4 acre semi-wooded property. Didn't take long to realize I needed a tractor. But we spent pretty much all of our savings on the move, and I can't afford a tractor payment, so, reluctantly I decided to try to trade my custom built motorcycle for a tractor. I have a guy offering me an L4300F with 609 hours, a 5 ft brushhog, fork attachment, small rear dump bucket, and a boxblade in trade. My question is... Is it worth what he says. He says it's worth 10k, and although I believe it may be, I just want to make sure. Runs good. Decent cosmetic condition. Doesn't seem to have any leaks. Does have a started grind occasionally. Runs strong through all gears. Should I accept his valuation?

Unfortunately Tractor House only has 3 of the L4300's listed. One is out of the country, one has a cab which brings more money and the other has a loader which is going for 11k. Hummm... 10 grand doesn't sound to way off base for his tractor. Without a loader maybe 8 or 9 grand might be a little more feasible on his price but there again he is offering up some toys to go with it.
