My 2006 L3830 wouldn’t start and display said “CLUTCH”. So I looked to find the switch and check for loose connection etc. I saw the stop bolt but couldn’t budge it. I took the rubber bumper off the stop bolt and it started. I guess that’s how I got enough adjustment on the bolt to make the switch work. I have referred to Messick’s parts diagrams and don’t see where the switch is. Where is it located and is the stop bolt how you adjust? Thanks in advance

How much free travel do you have on the clutch? Maybe your clutch needs adjusting, fixing both issues at the same time. Sorry, I don't know how much free travel it should have.

Switch is located above where the clutch pedal pivots under the dash.

Clutch free play is 20 to 30mm

Using Messick's as reference...

The switch can be found under the Electrical System subheading and is drawing B10403 SWITCH [HST TYPE]

I found the clutch out of spec on free play. I turned the adjustment clevis 2 turns. I put the rubber bumper stop back and it starts fine now.
