Long time reader, first time post-er. And happy to be redirected to a post with the answer but couldn't find one.
Battery needs to be jumped, either going bad or just to cold - tried to open the hood. Pulled down HARD repeatedly on the plastic T hood release and nothing. Tried even harder and ended up with the top of the T in my hand.
Any suggestions how to get that hood open? And  where to get a new T (preferably not cheap plastic.
Thanks!

I believe that will be an underneath experience in tight quarters.

These are entirely different hood latch mechanisms than in an L3560. I'll go look at mine tomorrow to see if I can make any suggestions to get it open.

My hood release on the l3560 is on the side opposite the muffler and it is a little circle metal rod that you pull that pops open the hood.

I went to Kubota's parts website and I see there is an old style (the one you have) and the new style release which I have.

I believe the OP must have solved his problem, but I had a look at mine this morning and recommend keeping the latch and the cable to the T handle well lubed and any nuts that hold the cable in place snug. The only way to get to the latch itself short of taking the hood apart would as Flip said, be tight quarters. The latch is in the center, in front of the battery, and getting fingers or tools in that space to open it by hand from underneath would be challenging to say the least.

Yes, last night I did finally get it open, sprayed wd-40 up into where the pull cable exists he frame, grab onto whats left of the plastic pull handle and jerked it repeatedly...
Also since it looks like the cable assembly and the plastic handle are all one item, it's be $40 for that plastic handle. So I'm going to figure out how to fab one from scuttled parts.
Now on to the 1st problem - engine not starting. Hooked up the truck to the tractor battery and ran it awhile last night but no luck. Still won't turn over, there's a fast clicking sound coming from near right side (seated), and 3 codes: P0380, 0606, and 2414. Researching those now. And all I wanted to do was use the forks to move the still-on-pallet new stump bucket out of the driveway...
