just loving the improvements made to prevent us from using our equipment!!! Way too many safety switches...................so now that kubota replaced the brake switch, I now find out the seat and/or neutral switch freezes in this below freezing weather............parked the tractor Sunday morning no problems over the weekend..........Monday evening after the snow stopped, the tractor started, let it warm up, touched the shifter and tractor shut off....anyone else have this problem and know a fix.............would really like to know a way to by-pass the seat and neutral safety switches. thx................

Seems this is a known issue to Kubota.......their answer is the seat freezes and the safety switch does not engage. the resolution is to drill holes in the seat to allow air flow............what a crock.

anyone know the specifics of permanently by-passing the seat safety switch?

rhetoric doesn't answer the question. i've by-passed many old age safety switches...........doesn't always work for NEW equipment filled with electronics......specifics specifics

Bypassing is always the better thing to do IMHO, but I am an old guy, who never had the "safety" gadgetry before.
YMMV!

same here. new safety switches are wired into everything and need to be done in a specific manner........no simple twisting the connecting wires together.

Think about this….. We pay Kubota a LOT of money for our tractors….. and Kubota installs a LOT of switches designed to prevent our use. This also helps us get past the warranty period.

😝 :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I am SO GRATEFUL my 1996 Kubota has only TWO safety switches ..one on the Range Lever…. requires it to be in Neutral…. and one on the PTO selector…requires it to be in the OFF position.

If my tractor had ANY OTHER safety switches…. I’d make short jumpers around them.

they put the switches on em because idiots fall off and get themselves hurt/killed and some people try to start the engine beside the tractor and run themselves over and then sometimes they'll start em in gear and throw themselves off and get run over by a shredder that's shredding (pto in the on position). I've known of or seen all of these happen

They are inconvenient for sure but they do serve a purpose. Unfortunately sometimes i wonder if the manufacturer doesn't test them enough.

MANY years ago, I was temporarily based in Keflavik, Iceland.
One of our sailors closed the massive (electric) hangar doors and squished his head.
We never did determine if it was an "accident", or a suicide.

If you've read a recent thread where silliness led to a kid getting himself paralyzed and winning an $11Million suit against Kubota you'll have to wonder why they don't double the number of switches - AND put so many safety stickers on their machines you couldn't tell the paint is orange!

Which reaffirms that it's about lining the pockets of lawyers. If Kubota built a tractor that for unknown reason explodes ,flips over backwards or goes out of control maiming and killing kubota should have to make families whole. People killing themself out of carelessness don't deserve a dime because Kubota didn't idiot proof the tractor. Aside to those who are injured because they act reckless, I wager more are injured while jacking with failed safeties ( bypassing starter while standing on ground) than would be if tractor never included the safety..

It wuldn't surpise me to know that's what Kubota said hoping drill hits switch sending owner to dealer for a replacement. The few times I've asked for information I didn't net any I consider good. Either that or they take the 5th.
