I got a L3010D HST from a friend a couple years ago because it had no throttle and would run wide open. I starting taking covers off to inspect the injection pump rack to find out in was off the governor arm (seen in the first picture). In the picture you will see no springs but they have been removed for pictures, but ordered new springs to try before moving to the next step.
I was thinking easy fix well something is jacked up because the Governor Arm only catches at the very top of the rack pin and once you run it for awhile it will jump off and begin to run wide open as the injection rack pushes forward. Something is either bent or damaged because the articulation of the governor arm will not go far enough up to keep the rack pin from jumping out.
Has anyone ran into this issue?
My next step is to take the front timing cover off to inspect everything but ran into an issue getting the cover clear of the frame rail. Whats the easiest way to either hinge the front end from the engine to give me clearance to get the front cover off or do i have to remove it completely?
Any info would be helpful and thanks forward!!
